Vukas Capital Advisors (VCA) was founded in Leawood, KS in 2023. With professional experience in real estate development, CDFI lending, and New Market Tax Credits, VCA focuses on providing much more than just one-off services to our clients.

Vukas Capital takes an alternative approach to evaluating a projects community need, viability, marketability, realistic timeframes, and community impact. We can provide an initial evaluation so project sponsors don’t waste time and money on a project that may not be competitive in the ever-changing CDFI industry.

As Principal of Vukas Capital Advisors, Chris is responsible for running all facets of the business. He has spent the past 17 years in community development finance, utilizing New Market Tax Credits (NMTC) to close financing gaps in asset classes nationwide, including rural Native American projects, grocery stores in food deserts, industrial/manufacturing development, rural healthcare development, business incubators, college and university expansions, among other asset classes.
Chris has worked at CDEs/CDFIs including Travois New Markets and Greater Kansas City LISC and has worked in the community and economic development field on projects that transform communities by securing hundreds of millions of dollars of New Market Tax Credits for clients as well as other community development incentives. He is currently working directly with CDFI VyStar Credit Union to help navigate the complicated maze of CDFI programs with primary focus on the NMTC program as well as project sponsors from across the country.
Chris earned a BS degree in Environmental Policy from The University of Kansas and an Masters in Public Administration emphasis on Urban Administration from University of Missouri-Kansas City. Chris served as a Peace Corps Volunteer from 2000-2002 in southern Honduras supporting women's and fisherman's rights and the protection and conservation of coastal habitats for sea turtle migration.
He has also been selected for multiple "next generation" leadership programs including and the Kauffman Foundation Education Fellowship Program, Bank of America's Neighborhood Builders Leadership Program and Kansas City Chamber of Commerce's Centurions Leadership Program.
